This is the Snickerdoodle recipe out of the Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook you know, the famous red and white checker cover… Anyway this is the recipe my mom always made and right next to it is the best Peanut Butter cookie recipe… {you’ll see in my cookbook where I have wrote in the doubled measurements} Let’s face it a single batch of these cookies is NEVER enough…
1 cup butter {softened}
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp Cream of tartar
2 parts sugar to 1 part Cinnamon {to roll your cookie balls in}
Oven 375 degrees
Mix butter, add half of the flour, 2 cups sugar, egg, vanilla, baking soda, cream of tartar. Beat until thoroughly combined. Beat in remaining flour. Shape dough into 1 inch balls roll in a bowl of the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place two inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.
By the way… Check out my thrifty find…. 48 Oneida dishes {love black and white} That’s service for 12… At our local thrift shop for $24.99… I mentioned them to Spike, and he went the NEXT day {said he was getting coffee} and came home with them! What a guy…

I need to see these dishes in person, they are great! They look brown and white in the picture though but even that would be pretty! Oh and the cookies look good too!
Ok…I insist you tell me where you got those dishes! (please? LOL) I love them! Snickerdoodles are my absolute favorite. They were the first cookies I ever started making. Oh yeah…and can you tell me where you got the dishes? (o:
