Body & Spirit

sky-grass.jpg

At church today our pastor said something that made me go hmmmmmm.  How much time do you spend on your body?  Cleaning your body, feeding your body, primping your body, pampering your body etc…  He then followed that with how much time do you spend on your spirit??  You see your spirit is who you are, the spirit is God manifested in you, and yet do you give your spirit as much time and attention as you give your body?  One day our body is going to quit, give up, stop…. But our spirit will remain for eternity.  You are spirit and you will always be…  You are a SPIRIT within a body.  {By the way, we should still spend time cleaning our bodies (hahahaha) just don’t forget to spend time cleaning our spirit as well}

One of my Valentine gifts from Spike was a new book
Sarah My Beloved
by Sharlene MacLaren
 When I first looked at the book I noticed on the side it said 2…  hmmm
Then on the front cover I read…
Little Hickman Creek Series…hmmm
I then informed my husband {you bought me the second book in a SERIES}
His reply: oh I didn’t pay attention, I just thought it looked like a book you would like.
Well, I decided I would go ahead and read it since I had just finished another book and was book-less {heaven forbid}  Now this is completely out of character for me, as I am an in-order kinda gal…  But I could NOT put this book down!  The story was amazing {and finally one with a happy ending}… I would classify this book as a Christian historical fiction {love story} ahhhh.
I would also rate it a 5 plus .  A story of patience, hope, and real love.  Sarah and Rocky’s love story needs to become a movie….  I finished the book last night and was ready to get in the car and drive to the book store to buy the 3rd in the series called “Courting Emma” Spike looked it up online and guess what???  It isn’t being released until April 2008!  WHAT… ughhhhh now I have to wait, but in the meantime I shall purchase the FIRST in the series…
“Loving Liza Jane”

*Clean the cat box

By dinner time with several more things on my list to complete, I was feeling kinda grouchy so I opted to take a bath and go to bed at 8:30 to read my book Spike bought me for Valentine’s Day “Sarah, my Beloved

I will first start with the before photos, and no I was NOT having a garage sale… Anyone who knows me has seen my over stuffed unorganized garage!  This has been a dreaded task for at least 2 years, I am not kidding when I tell ya… I have put this baby off…  Well this crisp, cool, sunshine inspired me to get out there… and get BUSY, so Saturday morning at 9:30 I began… I started with emptying the entire contents onto the driveway.

Now mind you this is in half of a garage since about 3 years ago we converted half of our garage into a game room for the boys.  After emptying the contents I began sorting through EVERY box, this is when I transferred all Christmas into red and green tubs, Halloween into black and orange tubs, fall into taupe tubs, etc.  I also labeled EVERYTHING with my trusty label maker {love this tool}.  During this redo I was making a pile for donation and another for the dump.  Then after SEVEN hours I started loosing day light so I had to haul it ALL back into the garage and vowed that first thing in the morning I would be out there FINISHING it!  That is exactly what I did…. I pulled EVERYTHING back out and continued with my sorting.  Another SEVEN hours, one truck load to the Goodwill, and TWO truckloads to the dump here are my results!

I am VERY pleased to get that monkey off my back!  We even were able to get our extra refrigerator {that was in the game room} out there.  It’s the garage I have always dreamed of!  Emilie and Roxanne I can hear you cheering now {especially since you didn’t have to help}!

Out Of The Mouths of Babes

lipsandteeth.jpg

Yesterday afternoon my youngest {5 years old} says, “Mommy when I tried to give Dolce a hoobadigger she chomped my cheek”  My reply, “What’s a hoobadigger?”  He says, “It’s when you rub your nose {think Eskimo kiss} with someone {dog} and say “hooba, hooba… digger, digger, digger” {when you say the digger, digger, digger part you go faster}.  He couldn’t understand why Dolce {the dog} would chomp him, well she thought he was playing!  She actually likes hoobadiggers.  But apparently when he gives the cats hoobadiggers,they don’t chomp… Now can you see the confusion? hahahah I just thought the term hoobadigger was cute!

Then this morning he wakes up to inform me that when he has kids {all 10 of them} yes he says he is having 10 children, he has his names picked out and wanted to share them with me…. Are you ready for this??  In the following order my grandchildren will be born and named….. Vader, Troop, Padme’, Leia, Boba, Jango, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Mace and last but not least Yoda.  He will have two sons, followed by two daughters, and the rest boys!  Not only that but they are all going to live here with us.  {he simply can’t bear the thought of ever leaning home}.  I just love his little mind and how it works….

The Cold
Ahhhhh….. Choooo….
Not me, and I pray it stays that way!  My poor hubby and oldest son have this miserable cold!
Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy taking care of them, but….
at 1:00 am after being woke up from a deep sleep, you know the kind you get after being asleep for about an hour.  Ugh… I try to be helpful, do you need water, medicine, Kleenex, a muzzle {just kidding} ok maybe not, but in my defense I haven’t been getting much sleep with my hubby being sick.  Poor guy has worked through it too.  He was finally off on Sunday and today, so rest is finally possible for him.  I hope all my friends and family in bloggy land stay healthy.

Every Good

Let me start by saying Every Good & Perfect Gift has both touched and moved me on many levels.  The story of Dee Dee and Gabby goes beyond friendship, beyond sisterhood, and beyond commitment.  Everyone has a choice to love and go beyond love.  When asked if you would give your life for your friend, death would be easy, but truly living for your friend takes on a whole new meaning.  This story takes you on a journey of Dee Dee and Gabby from children into adulthood.  What a magical friendship they share.  If only we could all experience a Dee Dee or Gabby in our lives.

I give this book 5***** STARS… It is a MUST read….  In fact buy your best friend a copy when you buy yours!
