Look at the detail….

This my friends is my Goodwill treasure…. Thank you Dad, Mom, and Roxanne!  I saw this a few weeks ago, but it was $45.00 and to me that was too high for Goodwill {although I know in an antique store it would have been way more}… So yesterday my hubby and I went in and I was looking at books, he wandered off and came over to me and said, “I found something I think you would like, it’s an old sewing machine”… I informed him I had seen a week ago but the price was too high for me, he went back over and said, “It’s $25.00″…. WHAT, wait… I went over and sure enough the $45.00 was crossed out and it was marked down to $25.00, but wait I never leave home without my $5.00 off coupon….. So this beauty cost me 20 BUCKS!!

NOW…. for my next 20 dollar purchase….

From Marshall’s

Favorite Fall treat

I can now say I am addicted to BLOGGING, and it’s a GREAT thing!  I look at things so differently, my family all tease when I get out the camera “are you going to blog about this”… ?  But of course! 😉

Now, I am going to give you a gift {if your lucky number is drawn} I timed my give~away poorly, so I figure why not pick 2 winners, leave a comment on this Blogiversary post and I will random generate another # on Monday morning, for one of my pumpkins.

My friend, Wendy and her daughter Steph. stopped by last night with a BOX of ACORNS…. It was all I could do not to drool over them!  They are the CUTEST wooden acorns ever!  She said, she bought them for my birthday, but didn’t want to wait until November to give them to me… She knows me well enough to know, I am itchin’ to decorate for fall, she thought I’d get more enjoyment out of them now!  She is right!  I just keep staring at this FULL bowl of acorns!  Thanks…

E cookies and cupcakes

Cookie Topper Recipe

2 Dozen Cookies

1 1/4 cups of flour plus more for dusting

1/4 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 sugar

1 egg

1/2 tsp vanilla

Cream butter {softened} and sugar with electric mixer, until pale and fluffy.  Mix in egg and vanilla.  Mix on low, add flour, baking powder, and salt.  Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about an hour.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  On a lightly floured surface roll dough out to about 1/8 inch thick.  Cut 2 inch circles, cut out centers with a mini letter shaped cookie cutter.  Transfer to baking sheet lined with parchment paper.  Bake about 10 to 12 minutes.  Let cool completely.

Cookie Glaze

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

2 TBSP BOILING water

1 1/2 tsp corn syrup

3/4 tsp vanilla

food coloring of your choice

In a small bowl combine powdered sugar, water, corn syrup, and vanilla.  Blend with a wire whisk until smooth.  Add a tiny amount of food coloring as needed.  Apply {paint} with a small paint brush.  Sets in about an hour to a shiny semi hard surface.  note: Cover the glaze in the bowl with a piece of plastic wrap, frosting takes a while and this prevents the glaze surface from drying.  I left a small opening for my paint brush.

Now to check out the party decor visit Em’s blog.

The Best Nest

Em and I were given the GIFT of a day at the spa from all the ladies at MOMents

We finally got to enjoy this gift today… We walked into the most beautiful calming lounge complete with nest painted on the wall.

We were laughing because the way we were taking pictures, seemed more like we were on vacation rather than in our own little town’s bed and breakfast Wine and Roses… Actually that is exactly what it was like a little vacation.

Look at all those colors to choose from, that was very hard for me, Em finally said, “it’s not a tattoo” hahaha so I settled for a dark chocolate color called Midnight in Moscow.

All done, just look at our pretty toes!

Thank you ladies we had fun what a great gift!
